Happy Swiss-day;)

1st of August is the Swiss National Day. Not that we do much, other than party on the 31st, BBQ and watching fireworks on the 1st. As a kid it’s a lot of fun coz you get the official license to use all things pyrotechnic in the name of your patriotic duty.

Here a small selection of things CH I heart:

Best chocolate ever…

Weirdest drink ever, but really tasty.

Yammie!;)

Goes with everything: Popcorn, FrenchFries, Cucumber, etc. Now also without MSG, yeah!;)

Swiss Coffee

Yep, we Swiss do drink a lot of coffee. I am quite surprised though that we are ahead of Italy, THE coffee nation per se. And on this note, I’ll go fetch another cuppa joe in the kitchen…

Of SwissMiss, Sandwiches and Spot Challenges

One of my favourite Design Blogs is SwissMiss (and not only because she’s also Swiss). She has this great mix of design-art-whimsy-objects-furniture-fonts-etc. This Mondrian inspired Sandwich might just be the best thing for “Morgenmuffel” (there just isn’t a good translation for that)-artsy person to wake-up to.

And this might be something for the “hit every Damien HirstLarry Gagosian Gallery around the world – Complete Spot Challenge” adventurer.

Needless to say, if I had the necessary petty cash lying around, I would already have hit half of them by mid-week.  Gosh, am I envious of Cristina Ruiz of the Art Newspaper. Not only does she work for an amazing institution, but on top of it, the Challenge is paid for by it. But unlike the crème de la crème of the art world who would have to shell out $108,572 for a 19-day luxury itinerary as calculated by Reuters, she is not flying first class and tries to do the challenge with as little money as possible.

Update: Participants who have finished the Spot Challenge will receive their Spot Painting end of September 2012, see Cristina Ruiz’s article on the Art Newspaper.

My favourite Fashion Blogs I follow plus a giveaway Balenciaga Bag from FashionChalet.net

I tried and followed a couple of blogs but my absolute favs so far are the following:

Cupcakes and Cashmere Emily is absolutely gorgeous, and she cooks, and bakes, and does DIY-projects, and, and, and. She inspires not only my wardrobe but also my kitchen.

FashionChalet Erika Marie mixes low- and high-end items and looks absolutely fab in everything she wears. Plus, she’s giving away a Balenciaga bag! Check it out here

FashionSquad I wish I had a Mattias;) He takes amazing pictures of Carolina Engman, who looks oh so effortless in all her sophisticated outfits.

The Glamourai Kelly Framel is absolutely gorgeous and I love her urban yet glamourous vibe.

From Me To You How amazing are those Cinemagraphs! Jamie looks so much like a Hollywood Diva of those glamourous times à la Rita Hayworth. I love her Movie+Dinner inspirations and her pics are absolutely eye-catching.

Sea of Shoes Fresh, young and colourful, that’s how it feels when I scroll through Jane Aldridge’s blog;) I love her … inspired collages.

Stylebubble Oh Susie! How do I love your style! If only I was Asian (I dreamt of Asian eyes ever since I was 3 years old, pulling back my eyes so they would stay that way). Somehow only you can pull off those crazy pattern mixes that are absolutely stunning.

Chicmuse Denni has this Rockstar-Model attitude that translates amazingly in all her pictures. I am still impressed that she wore her Prada’s in the woods;)

Styleseeking Zürich Because Neslihan & Mi-Ji are based in Switzerland and they put together amazing looks that are wearable in CH.
