High Noon for Tea Fashionistas

Talking about Cream Tea… Afternoon Tea at the Berkeley London, an absolute must for all fashionistas that love afternoon tea or tea lovers that happen to be fashionistas. Trip to London, jotted down for 2012.

On the mouth-watering menu (in a fashionable gourmestatic way, of course):

  • Valentino orange and ginger clutch cake closed with oversized chocolate bow
  • Bottega Veneta colour blocking pink and gold pear mousse and clementine cremeux coat with matching macaroon button
  • Dolce & Gabbana signature gold starred chocolate éclair dress filled with hazelnut cream
  • Stella McCartney must-have polka dot sponge cake dress
  • Burberry Prorsum stylish black and white double breasted chocolate biscuit coat with snow white vanilla icing
  • Miu Miu winter spice glittery high-heeled shoe biscuit
  • Jill Sander pomegranate and grenadine mousse dress topped with colourful chocolate flower pattern
  • Lanvin show-stopping cassis bavarois dress with crème de mûre jelly topped with signature folded meringue
  • Sonia Rykiel striped chestnut cream and almond sponge cake dress complete with trendy metallic sparkles

UPDATE: Just booked a table in the Caramel Room for the Prêt a Portea in June 2012, yeah!

Do you have milk?

I never had the experience of an US school Cafeteria, but this sure would look cute on an afternoon-tea table decked with Cupcakes (ok, not very british, but they look cute), mini cucumber sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and the whole nine yards of bakery goddess goodies.

Barbie forever … Creepy or just barbendary?

If you live in CH, you most probably know Ron Orp. They know what kind of fun stuff to do on any given day. And sometimes, they also share what they discover in their eternal quest of being cool and ahead of us mere ordinary mortals or just artsy-ronorp-self. Today they made me discover Margaux Lange, a sort of Peter-Pan of Barbie Doll’s, never letting go of that pink blond escape from this harsh b/w reality to a world of fantasy where everything is possible and Technicolor drenched. I just am not quite sure if her jewellery is barbendary and, one must admit, the lips look like fun colour swatches for your spring make-up inspiration or slightly plastic-dismantling serial killer creepy. See for yourselves…

Ashamed to walk around with your PQ*?

In case you are a bit like me, meaning that you don’t like to go buy toilet paper or *PQ in French (for papier de cul) and walk around the city with it, you might like the Jonathan Adler covers. I admit, you would have to buy a lot of covers to camouflage the family pack of 24 rolls. On the other hand, if you have a better half with a smaller PQ-complexe, you can just use the covers as decoration in your toilet at home and colour-up a bit that silent place of contemplation.

Go green: Grocery List Shopping Tote

Swiss and European Supermarkets have been encouraging grocery shoppers to go green for some time now. They could take some creative inspiration from Leo Burnett and Tide in the UAE, though. The tote that doubles as grocery list is quite quirky, functional and useful. How about wax-cloth next time? That way you don’t need to wash your tote (with Tide, I assume) after every shopping trip.
